Malik Zaire’s Interest in Wisconsin Sounds High

On Wednesday, Notre Dame grad transfer Malik Zaire visited the University of Wisconsin. He talked with ESPN Wisconsin about why he’s looking at Wisconsin for his final destination, and I found it rather interesting. Personally, Wisconsin seemed on the list because they have a strong program among other things. What we learned is Zaire’s relationship goes deeper with Paul Chryst and offensive coordinator Joe Randolph. Dare I say that Wisconsin might be the favorite?
Usually, when a player decides to make a move for their final year, they want to go some place that’s one part where the athlete can be successful and the other part where they feel safe. From the sound of it, the former Golden Domer wouldn’t mind being a Badger next Fall. It’s clear when hearing about Zaire talk about Chryst and Randolph he really likes what they have put together formerly at Pittsburgh and now Wisconsin. My assumption is we’ll know about Zaire’s decision by the end of the year or shortly thereafter so he’s ready for Spring ball.
In related news, Wisconsin Badgers snagged a quarterback for the 2018 season with Ben Bryant from Illinois. He’s the 19th-rated pro-style quarterback, but it appears that Bryant received some newfound attention of late, therefore, he could be coming on strong. Wisconsin is certainly building a stable at the quarterback position.
