Former Milwaukee Bucks, now Chicago Bulls guard Michael Carter-Williams was an enigma the minute Milwaukee traded for him in a deal that sent Brandon Knight to Phoenix. People loved Knight and thought he could be part of the future plans for this team. Carter-Williams came in with more baggage than a reality television star. He wasn’t an issue in the locker room but his rookie season looked more like fool’s gold in year two. Carter-Williams frustrated many Bucks fans as he didn’t seem to make improvements while other parts of the team did last season. Milwaukee dealt the young point guard to Chicago for Tony Snell.

The Carter-Williams deal isn’t a failure for John Hammond. That needs to be shouted from the Milwaukee mountain tops. Hammond decided against paying Knight by the middle of that season, and instead of letting him play out the year, Hammond dealt him for what looked to be a valued asset. Knight doesn’t inflict buyer’s remorse as he’s struggling to start on the lowly Phoenix team, and there are rumors he will be dealt early in the season. Jason Kidd saw a younger version of him in Carter-Williams, and simply put, Carter-Williams never made a point to fix things about his game like Kidd did in his career. When Giannis Antetokounmpo took over the starting role, it was curtains for the former Syracuse guard.

Tony Snell brings a unique style of basketball to Bucks. He gives the bench some much needed perimeter defense with the likes of Jason Terry and Mirza Teletovic out there. Snell has been great from deep in the past two years with 36% and 37% from three. He’ll get some shots up with the second unit. Even though he’s averaged only five points a game for his career, Snell has been known to put up some big games especially against Bucks.

All eyes go to Greg Monroe to see if he’s the next man moved from this team. He’s looked really good in preseason and wants to be a part of this team. There were some murmurs about Charlotte for Jeremy Lamb, but those never picked up steam plus now with Snell, does that mean Lamb is out of the picture? I’m sure Milwaukee will keep trying to find a suitor for the big man.
