This picture surfaced late this morning of Odell Beckham Jr of New York Giants and the rest of the wide receiver group hanging out in South Beach on a boat with Trey Songz and Justin Bieber. As you know, this is an off day for New York, and Odell thought the best idea would be to party it up after the game. I’m not hating on this move. Look, they have money and if the spot in MIA, then that’s the spot for the evening. That being said, there’s some risk involved here with the fanbase, some of local media and most importantly, their opponent, the Green Bay Packers.

Let’s start with their playoff opponent for the third time since 2007, Green Bay. They might see this as a sign of disrespect. That Odell and Giants are so confident that they can jetset down the Eastern coast and be ready for a game against Packers defense. Not saying this will be how Green Bay takes the photo, but anything Packers can do to develop a chip heading into the playoffs, they’ll take it. Maybe this is something we hear about if Packers win on Sunday, or it could be absolutely nothing.

Fanbase and local media are twofold. This is going to be a conversations all over the place about ‘Is this the right move?’ Media members are already coming to their need, but Giants players will have to answer questions about it on Wednesday when teams usually meet with the media. It’s the social media generation where everything gets captured on camera. These players should be allowed to live their lives, but fans expect them to be robots.
