Packers Open Up As Large Underdogs vs. Los Angeles

Green Bay Packers will be back in action next week to face the Los Angeles Rams. Packers are 3-2-1 at this point of the season. They embark on their two toughest games of the season playing at Los Angeles then Sunday night affair with the New England Patriots. Due to a combination of the Rams being very good and the Packers showing inconsistencies, Vegas set the line at 8.5 with the Rams obviously favored. This is one of the largest lines for the Aaron Rodgers-led Packers in Rodgers career. I do know one thing – I love the idea of Rodgers having a chip on his shoulder for this game and coming out very fresh.
I can see why Vegas put the Packers as large underdogs. What part of Green Bay’s game do people think will make this close? It’s hard to remain positive about the Packers when there is so much to be pessimistic about with this team. Mike McCarthy hates Aaron Jones and insists on playing Jamaal Williams. Packers offense looks like its out of an old-timey film. The defense is young and exploitable especially in the secondary. They make more mental mistakes than any other Packers team of recent memory. All of these things contributed to the Packers being large underdogs.
Would I bet the Packers +8.5? Absolutely. Whenever you get Rodgers with a full touchdown, you take that and run. I expect the line to come down to maybe 6.5 when kickoff happens on Sunday. People are going to hammer the opportunity to get it anywhere from 8.5 to 7 if possible. Also, it’s worth taking a flier on a moneyline pick for Green Bay. McCarthy is one of the better coaches off a bye week and Rodgers can beat anyone including the Los Angeles Rams.
