Packers Preparing to Cut Josh Sitton

News broke this afternoon by ESPN’s Rob Demovsky that Josh Sitton, Green Bay’s Pro Bowl guard, will no longer be a part of the team.
Packers are currently looking to trade Sitton, but it’s likely he will be released at 3:00 pm. This is an absolute stunner. People thought there could be some surprises with the Packers’ cuts today, but no one expected something like this from Lambeau today. Many fans are going to raise holy hell about this in the coming weeks especially if the interior line struggles in the first couple weeks of the season.
All-Pro guard Josh Sitton will be released if the Packers are unable to trade him, per a source. https://t.co/TBgAyu2ztM

Josh Sitton does have a bad back, but there has been zero signs of any sort of issue with it in training camp. It’s hard to think of a reason besides that why Sitton is being released today. It’s hard to not to wonder about how Green Bay replaces Sitton’s leadership on the offensive line.
More to come on this tomorrow along with other roster thoughts.
