Rodgers & Cobb Keep Spinning Football Tradition Alive

Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson started a tradition of spinning a football a few years ago before the game started. With Nelson leaving the team, some wondered about if Rodgers would keep with tradition. He answered that question on Thursday night with spinning the ball with Randall Cobb instead of Nelson. This is the logical replacement for Nelson, and it’s good to see Rodgers is keeping this thing rolling with someone else. The mentions on Twitter and Instagram when the Packers social team posted this on Thursday night were hilarious. All of these fans clamoring for an over-the-hill wide receiver.

People need to get the fuck over Nelson not being in Green Bay. Like it’s over, he’s not coming back, folks. I’m so excited to watch him be completely average for the Raiders. That’s probably mean of me, but I really need fans to see the light on this thing. How could you say that you’d rather have Nelson over a variety of young, promising receivers that cost half the price. I never became a Jordy fanboy as you can tell with this blog post, but seriously, I do not understand why everyone loved him so much. He was an above average receiver whose career benefited completely from Aaron Rodgers. That’s just a fact.
Charlie.
