I have a firm belief that athletes are not role models. I cannot fathom a role model being an athlete. The reason being is they typically are a little different off the court, field, whatever. And the last thing that should happen for some kids is to get their hopes and dreams dashed if the player doesn’t live up to those superhero dreams. I picture a scene from ‘The Boys’ or something similar in most cases. Giannis Antetokoumpo is on a different level. The dude is so genuine, sweet, caring, and cares about the kids in Milwaukee and all over the United States. He is one of the few athletes I can say with my full heart that is a role model for kids not only in the city but across the country. Here’s another great example of Giannis being the man.

He doesn’t have to do this type of thing. Credit also goes to his fiancee who makes sure Giannis is aware of this type of thing because I’m sure he has 1000 other things that are going through his mind. To make this kid’s day, week, month, year, maybe life even is so fucking special. It makes me so happy to see this kind of thing because he is our guy. Part of me truly believes that no matter if Milwaukee wins a championship or not, there will be a statue for Antetkounmpo for what impact he will leave on this city.
