Three Things About Wisconsin’s Big Ten Hoops Schedule

Wisconsin Badgers basketball is in need of a bounce back season. They missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 19 years. They had a sub .500 record in conference, and the team looked like a shell of themselves. This is a big year for Wisconsin. Led by Van Wilder first teamer, Ethan Happ, Wisconsin does have some things to like this season. They have multiple guys returning from injury like Kobe King and D’Mitrik Trice. Wisconsin has an interesting roster this season and could make some noise.
1. February is going to be a complete bear – Without question, Wisconsin’s hardest month will be the shortest month of the year. They are jam packed with games in the month of February, and it doesn’t start easy. Beginning on February 1st, Wisconsin will play three of the four projected best teams in the conference in a span of 12 days. They play Maryland at home before a two-game road trip to Minnesota then Michigan. They return home to play Michigan State before getting a little bit of a breather in February. That four-game stretch could make or break a lot of things for the Badgers
2. Michigan State once is nice, Michigan twice is not – Wisconsin will not have to visit East Lansing this winter. They’re only seeing Michigan State thate one time in February. That’s a good win for this team as Sparty is expected to be one of the top teams in the Big Ten. They do have to play Michigan twice which makes things a bit harder. Wolverines are expected to be very good this season and having to see them twice is less than stellar.
3. Nothing really weird – I feel like when you’re looking at a schedule where it’s very unpredictable until December, you look for weird things. There is not one odd thing about Wisconsin’s schedule. They do not have a stretch where they’re playing every game at home. Nor do they have a three-game road trip at any point of the Big Ten season. Big Ten did Wisconsin a solid.
We’ll see what’s in store for this Badgers team as they’ll kick off their season on November 6th.
