Green Bay Packers had another close win yesterday. They beat the Cleveland Browns in the last seconds with a two-point victory. People came out of the woodwork to talk about how the Packers are suddenly overrated. This is very predictable. Packers are the best team in the NFC, so, everyone is ready to poke holes in them. I will not excuse the fact that Green Bay was absolutely fucking brutal against the run. That needs to be fixed. But no team is going to be perfect. Simple as that. The guys who are buried in their spreadsheets ran to Twitter after the game to tell us the Packers aren’t winning the Super Bowl.

One more note on Green Bay. Despite their record, the Packers are very clearly not the best team in the NFL this regular season.

But with the injured guys they may get back, they may be the best team going into the playoffs.

This type of stuff gets my dick hard. Simple as that. People act like the Packers are suddenly overrated because they held on against Baltimore and Cleveland. Let’s also be clear about both of these games. Packers were up by multiple scores in both of those games and did not finish the deal. Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers both admitted they were too conservative down the stretch yesterday.

What’s interesting here is that there are other models that use spreadsheets which tell you that the Packers are set up in the best position to win the Super Bowl as well. DVOA is a great way to tell the story about the football season, but it’s not the only model. And if other models are saying the Packers have the best chance to win the Super Bowl, maybe DVOA isn’t the only thing.

If anything, this says that the league is truly fucked up and the models might be broken. We’ll see. Someone is going to be right and I hope it’s us.
