Badger Musings: Michigan State Gets Railroaded

I thought that Wisconsin’s recap needed a better name than what I had in the past so we’re rolling with “Badger Musings” This might have been better suited for Marquette basketball but I digress. What a win.
Still, nobody believes in Wisconsin.
I know how this sounds. You think I’m crazy. I’m not. Here’s the thing… Every Badgers fan knows this is a good, potentially great, team. But the national perspective is still one of ‘Well, they have to play Michigan and Ohio State next so let’s pump the brakes on them being great.’ Pardon my french, but fuck the brakes. Wisconsin has been two top 10 teams already this season. That counts for something plus they went into East Lansing and beat them by 24. Start believing before it’s too late.
Alex Hornibrook won’t lose this job for awhile.
Maybe it’s an overreaction to one game, but Alex Hornibrook looks very comfortable at quarterback. NFL and College Football is different, but what I’m noticing with good, young quarterbacks is they all are very poised on the field. Hornibrook didn’t look intimidated at all out there. He made so many great throws where only the receiver could catch the ball. The offensive line deserves some credit too for making him feel at home back there. Malik McDowell did absolutely nothing and he projects as a top five draft pick. Hornibrook will get test after test in the coming weeks. t
Paul Chryst put his nuts on the table. `
I’ve never thought of Paul Chryst as an aggressive football coach, but maybe, I need to reconsider. He trusted his offense so much with multiple fourth down scenarios where he went for it and got rewarded. To me, this speaks to his defense. Chryst knows they have a good enough defense to get them the ball back quickly, and it won’t matter if they didn’t turn a long drive into points. But that wasn’t the case on Saturday. Badgers did a great job on fourth moving the sticks. Interested to see if Chryst stays with this method for the next couple of games.
