Before SnoTap was a thing, I had my own blog in college. Many people thought this was a cool thing and wanted to get involved. I created ‘Free Talk Friday’ where people could write in with their own topics (You may remember that name if you listen to the podcast). Well, I wanted to bring back the idea of user-generated blog content. Part of me thinks everyone has the skills to write blog content if they would like and some who have contributed before are really talented. You can pitch me an idea on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or through email – SnoTap12@gmail.com. Here are the rules.

You have to pitch me an idea first. It is most likely we’ll take your content, but a first round of discussion about whatever topic you’re writing about warrants a discussion. It has to fit in with something going on in the world as well. No one cares about a take you had three months ago, sorry. And the content should be something anyone could read in a few months or the day we publish it. We do not need day-to-day content. There isn’t a word limit, but I’ll probably look for anything around 400-800 words. It can definitely be longer though if needed. The topics are endless. Pick something that we’re not covering on SnoTapWI, and you’re golden. That means staying away from local sports, happenings, etc. The door is wide open. Hockey, golf, pop culture, short stories (Non-fiction likely). Only thing I asked is to stay away from straight politics. If you have a sports angle and you show respect, I’m for it.

My goal is to have a tab built on the website where people can share their work with their friends when they want. I am not sure if this will be a weekly thing, monthly thing or a quarterly thing. Any are possible. If you have any more questions, please let me know.
