The Last Time A Pitcher Dominated Like Corbin Burnes? 1906.

Do you know the song ‘New Level’ by ASAP Ferg? It’s a great one for the gym and recommend adding it to your playlist if you haven’t already. The chorus goes ‘Ima on new level’ a few times, and that’s what I imagine Corbin Burnes saying to himself. The dude is on absolute fire to start the season. In the first three games of the season, Burnes finished with 30k, 0 Walks. That’s incredible and the first pitcher to do that since 1906. World War I was still a decade away. If someone was still alive who was born in 1906, they are 125. Burnes is doing some true historic shit.

This dude is a cheat code. Burnes cannot be stopped by anyone at this point in the young season. He took down Minnesota, Chicago, and St. Louis. All lineups have big boppers, and it doesn’t matter. Burnes was on his game right away in this one with a couple of strikeouts and eight pitches. There’s a real chance he could strike 20 this year. tI’m fascinated to see him pitch against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night. That is going to be a great test for the young right-hander.
