A couple days ago, we told you about not expecting College Football Playoff to deliver for Wisconsin Badgers. There was too much crazy to really impact things, and many teams were still with only one loss. Unlike the AP Rankings, it’s a cumlation of the season, not a week-to-week thing. The CFB Playoff Committee did send a message today that it’s going to take a lot for Wisconsin to jump Clemson, Louisville and Washington. That’s a tall order, but college football is more unpredictable than any sport besides their hoops counterpart in March. There’s a path for Wisconsin, but they are going to need a little bit of help.

The biggest pondering that Wisconsin fans will do in the coming days is what helps Wisconsin more? Michigan giving Ohio State their second loss or Penn State sliding into the Big Ten Championship? There’s a worthy argument to made that Ohio State’s resume is better than Louisville, and Wisconsin goes into the fourth spot based off the conformation that Big Ten is the best conference in football. It would look like Alabama-Clemson-Ohio State-Wisconsin. But if Wisconsin avenges their Michigan loss, they are probably in as well with maybe Louisville sliding into their stop: Alabama-Clemson-Wisconsin-Louisville.

Besides the Michigan-Ohio State matchup, there are a couple for Wisconsin fans to keep an eye on starting this week with Louisville at Houston on Thursday night. Cougars players are calling it their ‘Super Bowl’ which is always a scary thing to hear as a road team. Clemson heading to Wake Forest could be tricky, but Deacs don’t seem like a 60 minute team.

It’s going to be alright, Badgers fans. It’s not the end of the world. Wisconsin will be okay.
