Chiefs GM Is Delusional If He Think Rodgers Situation Can’t Happen to Mahomes

Aaron Rodgers’ situation is one that will be studied in football for some time. There will be a lot of front offices around football that will want to avoid having that happen to their team. The general question will be ‘How do we make sure our quarterback doesn’t end up like Rodgers?’ The Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach seems to think that it will never happen to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. It is a hilarious comment by Veach because the assumption here is that the Chiefs will never go through downtime or have a coach that overstays his welcome. Here’s Pat McAfee on this topic, who if you forgot, is the leader of the Aaron Rodgers’ media mafia.

Mahomes is in year fucking four. Let’s remember that. In those four years, he has won a Super Bowl, lost a Super Bowl, and been to an AFC Championship game. That’s pretty legendary stuff. But at some point, that’s not going to be the standard. Mahomes might fall off in the latter stages of his career where Veach, or someone replacing Veech, might look for a replacement a la what Green Bay did with Jordan Love. You just don’t know. It’s impossible to predict the career of any quarterback. Even the great ones. Veach saying this will make the Chiefs fans feel all warm inside, but in reality, it’s a pure hypothetical.
