Christian Yelich’s Best Year Ever

Christian Yelich came to Milwaukee in January 2018. That’s 11 months ago. If you were to tell him that he would be the reason the Brewers won the National League Central, and you had an MVP season, he might call you a liar. Yelich had the tools to be an MVP-like player, but he never showcased the power until this year. He came within a few RBIs and HRs of being the Triple Crown winner in the National League. Over the summer, Yelich became the face of the Brewers with kids left and right popping up with Yelich shirsey. He’s the man right now, and he wrapped it up with an MVP trophy.
Is it a meteoric rise for Yelich? Well, that’s hard to say. The California kid had hype around him coming up through the minor leagues. When Milwaukee traded for him, that was a ‘oh shit’ moment for the rest of the league. The media didn’t know a ton about Yelich, but all baseball heads knew he’s one of the most talented players in baseball. A second ‘Oh shit’ moment happened when he tooks t off in the second half. Yeli became the number one guy for the Brewers and put the team on his back more times than Yelich could probably count. At that point, everyone knew he was and in a way, the star became born.
Yelich will forever be an MVP and did it as a Milwaukee Brewers baseball player. It’s a crowning achievement of David Stearns campaign with the Brewers. The young California kid took over the role of being the face of the franchise for this team. When the Brewers lose their face of the franchise when Braun had his issues then the fans were split on him, the team never got someone to fill that spot. The MVP took that role and did it in stride. He knows that every kid in Milwaukee is rocking that 22 jersey.
