Corbin Burnes Sets An Amazing Record Unfortunately In a Losing Effort
Corbin Burnes is the consecutive strikeout king for a couple of days. Burnes struck out 56 batters before allowing a single walk. That is the Major League Baseball record. For now. Gerrit Cole needs two strikeouts to break Burnes’ record. It’s like the passing records that Drew Brees and Tom Brady went back and forth with. That said, I’ll cheer like hell for a walk when Cole is pitching this weekend. Burnes had another great game with nine strikeouts, five hits allowed, and only one first-inning run. Because the Brewers’ offense is lifeless as a corpse, they were unable to support Burnes who lost this game.
Corbin Burnes just keeps breaking records!

This is a cool moment for the Brewers, and it reinforces the point that you have to see Burnes at the ballpark this summer. He is a must-see guy. Burnes has shown some of the best stuff in baseball this season and an absolute joy to watch pitch on the mound. It’s too bad the Brewers’ offense couldn’t give him some runs. It’s the story of the last few weeks for the Crew. Their offense is still trying to bounce back from not having Christian Yelich or Keston Hiura. Let’s hope they can find something in the coming weeks. Atlanta, Kansas City, and Cincinnati are all struggling pitching-wise so this could be the time to breakout.
