Could Adrian Peterson’s Injury Help Minnesota?

People don’t want to believe this to be true, but it’s apparent Adrian Peterson slows down the current Minnesota offense. Gone are the days where Peterson is the bell-cow needed to carry the load for the team. Now, it’s moved on to Sam Bradford and Stefon Diggs along with other weapons in the passing attack. It’s an amazing turn of events. Minnesota looked better without Peterson in the lineup. This is a really tough thing for Minnesota to work around therefore Peterson’s injury could help this out a bit. Norv Turner can call runs when he wants, not just to appease AD and get him the necessary carries.
Another reason why Peterson got off to a slow start is Minnesota’s offensive line is really bad. Peterson like Barry Sanders and others have played with bad lines, but as he gets older, he needs all the help he can get. This line cannot get a push to save their souls. While they aren’t great at pass protection, Turner can use Bradford in the shotgun to give the line a little more time to do things. Not to mention with Jerrick McKinnon, you have a better read-option back.
Let’s say Peterson is a normal human and misses four to six weeks with this injury, Minnesota faces Carolina, New York Giants, Houston and Philadelphia with a bye mixed in. Those are four tough games especially if Philly is actually good, we’ll see this weekend versus Pittsburgh. Also that’s a major issue with their line versus Carolina and Houston.
If Vikings continue to win in spite of Peterson’s injury, we might really see a changing of the guard.
