Wisconsin looked a little sleepy at the start of the Purdue game. With all the crazy things that happened in college football in the last two weeks, people wondered if Badgers could be on upset alert at West Lafayette. The second quarter proved otherwise as Wisconsin ended a game by the halftime bell. Badgers continue to kick ass and try to their way to Indianapolis with one game left on the schedule.

Running game continues to wreck
In the last two games, Wisconsin rushed for 648 yards. That’s a crazy amount of yards no matter the teams they are playing on Saturday. Corey Clement went over 100 yards for the third straight game, and this is his fifth game in his last six over 100 yards. Clement is straight eating to finish the year. It’s a beautiful thing to see from him. Bradrick Shaw had 68 yards on eight carries, and if you didn’t know, he’s the next great Wisconsin running back. We’ve seen it with so many of Badgers runners who start out with glimpses in their first year become full-blown starts by junior or senior year.

The T.J.’s help with the blowout
Big games from T.J. Watt and T.J. Edwards in this one. Watt looked exactly like his brother batting down a David Blough pass and running it back for six points to put Wisconsin up by eleven. Edwards batted another one of Blough’s balls down to make an interception also in the second quarter, which helped propel Badgers to victory. What’s great about the linebacking crew for Wisconsin is it’s never the same two guys who make the plays. This week, it’s the T.J.’s, next week it could be Ryan Connelly or Vince Biegel.

Bart Houston should be the starter
This isn’t a hill that I’m ready to die on, but I do think Wisconsin should start out with Bart Houston then have Alex Hornibrook fill in when he’s needed. The offense seems to move better when Houston is in there at quarterback. Although this could be like a Manu Ginoboli thing where Houston is better if he comes off the bench versus starting.

Eyes on the prize
Wisconsin will move up in the College Football Playoff. There’s no question about it. Louisville losing will put them with the two loss teams. It’s unlikely the Badgers jump Washington, rather, they will find themselves at six. The two biggest games that loom large for Wisconsin besides their own are Washington-Washington State on Friday, and Michigan-Ohio State.

Wisconsin battles for the ax at Camp Randall next Saturday, and if they win, they’ll head to their fourth Big Ten title game. Minnesota should not be slept on one bit. They’re a bowl team and would love nothing more than to ruin Wisconsin’s chances at the Big Ten title game or the CFB Playoff.
